Microsoft hat am Donnerstag seinen neuen Web-Browser Internet Explorer 8 mit zahlreichen neuen Funktionen in der endgültigen Fassung veröffentlicht. Bis zum Abend soll der Browser in Deutsch und 24 weiteren Sprachen zum Download im Internet zur Verfügung stehen, teilte das Unternehmen mit. Der Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) soll der derzeit schnellste Browser auf dem Markt sein. Vor zwei Tagen hatte Microsoft Ergebnisse eines Vergleichstests veröffentlicht, laut dem der IE8 in Sachen Geschwindigkeit die Konkurrenz überholt. Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt legten die Entwickler zudem darauf, dass der Browser das Surfen im Internet mit zahlreichen Funktionen sicherer macht.

Sogar das britische IT-Magazin The Register - bekannt für seine ätzende Kritik – titelt: „Internet Explorer 8 – nun mit 35 Prozent weniger Versagen“. Mehr Anerkennung kann sich Microsoft kaum wünschen.
Die positive Reaktion der Fachwelt hängt natürlich damit zusammen, dass die Vorgänger-Versionen des Microsoft-Browsers eher negativ auffielen.
Erst fünf Jahre später erwachte der Browser aus dem Dornröschenschlaf und erhielt in der Version 7 einige grundlegende Neuerungen, die freilich bei den Konkurrenten Opera, Firefox und Apple Safari schon lange Alltag waren.

mit 8-9 (teilweise unnötigen plugins) hat er bei mir einiges mehr an arbeitsspeicher belegt, alles unwichtige rausgeschmissen und nu ists super.

Den 8er werd ich auch mal testen...

Aber Squezes Problem hab ich beim FF auch... gut, der IE wird nicht mit Plugins vollgestopft, aber das ist beim FF aber Pflicht ;) - das macht das Ding endslahm.
